Your views on the proposed regulatory reforms

In September 2016 the Office for National Statistics (ONS) reclassified Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) in Wales as part of the public sector. This decision is set to have a significant impact on the social housing sector in Wales, restricting the ability of RSLs to build social housing. The Welsh Government has recently opened consultation on reforming RSL regulation in order to reverse the ONS’s decision. These reforms are set to see a reduction of certain Welsh Government regulatory powers, including certain enforcement powers, and powers over the structure of the sector (more information can be found at - https://consultations.gov.wales/sites/default/files/consultation_doc_files/170508_consultation_regulatoryreformrsls_en.pdf) TPAS Cymru is eager to gather the views of our members across Wales about these perspective changes before submitting our response.
