We have three new staff members joining us in our Cardiff office this summer. Carmen and Lewis will be starting in their positions on 20th August, while Elizabeth will be joining us on 10th September. We look forward to welcoming each of them to our team!

 

Elizabeth Taylor


Elizabeth Taylor
Engagement & Policy Officer

White LineElizabeth has worked in the UK and the USA delivering training to individuals and organisations from various backgrounds. She has particular expertise in working with young people.

Most recently, she has led on the delivery of educational policy development for carers in further and higher education across Wales. This development was built on the work of a number of successes in engagement; delivering innovative resources and lectures and developing, delivering and managing new systems and models of working. Elizabeth also has experience in project management and has arranged, organised and led numerous successful events.

Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys adventures and working out. This can be walking, climbing, paddle boarding, surfing or going to her local Crossfit box. Elizabeth has travelled across America, Australia, Africa, Asia and Europe with the intention of seeing as much of the world as possible.

Interesting fact: Elizabeth hiked the Blue Mountains in New South Wales, Australia carrying her two-year old daughter on her back.

Lewis Greenaway

Membership Officer

White LineLewis made the change to charity sector work a few years ago, and has worked or volunteered on projects involving gender equality, domestic abuse prevention, and employment services for people with disabilities. His passions in this sector involve extending access to services for disadvantaged communities and creating beneficial working relationships between organisations. With this background, we are looking forward to him continuing this focus in his new role at TPAS Cymru.

Outside of working life, he is a keen cook, student of languages and community campaigner. Lewis is committed Welsh learner and hopes to become fluent in Welsh over the next year or two, and then start learning another language. He has worked on a number of local and young people’s campaigns, most recently to encourage the local authority to provide equipment in children's play parks which is suitable for wheelchair users.

Carmen Smith


Carmen Smith
Private Rental Sector Participation Officer

White LineCarmen joins TPAS Cymru from her former role as Acting President of the National Union of Students Wales - the largest membership organisation in Wales. She brings with her a strong set of communications, policy and campaigning skills.

She was a former Board Member at the European Students' Union representing the UK, previous President at Gr┼Áp Llandrillo-Menai Students' Union, and a committed activist for a number of grassroots campaigns. Carmen is passionate about Wales, active citizenship and ensuring that voices from a diversity of communities are heard. Carmen is from Anglesey and is bilingual.

She is excited to bring her experiences and skills to her role at TPAS Cymru - to further tenant participation in the Private Rental Sector. A sector that 15% of people in Wales currently live in.
