New Approaches for Participation

Think Tank Event

Join us at our new Participation ‘Think Tank’ event to explore new (and updated) ideas for how to super charge and refresh your engagement.  Learn how to widen and transform participation and discover techniques or practices you could use in in your organisation or community.

Sessions will include:

Alliance Homes: A new approach to customer involvement

Alliance Homes have radically changed the way they do Tenant Involvement, including their approach to Tenant Scrutiny. Their aim was to make the involvement offered more representative and inclusive. They invested in new methods, such as their Scrutiny ‘Bootcamps’, to gain and understand the views of a wider range of Tenants. Hear how this worked and how residents are influencing and scrutinising services and retaining a local focus.

Behavioural/‘Nudge’ theory: Can it help us get more people involved?

What is behavioural theory? What is “nudge” all about? Could it help us get more people involved? Explore how we can use what we know about how people behave and think to find ways to encourage them to get involved.

Evidence gathering online: Exploring the best in online survey tools

Explore how to widen and transform your engagement using simple online consultation / survey tools. Using online survey methods can help ensure everyone’s voice and opinion is valued and can complement traditional workshops or postal surveys.  Find out about the different tools available, which work and for what, with some top tips to take away. It’s fun, practical and contains clear usable examples from the housing sector and beyond.
