New Summer Signings at TPAS Cymru

The football transfer window closes on Thursday and its been an uneventful summer. The English Premier League has lacked its usual drama, Gareth Bale stayed in Madrid, Cardiff struggled to get their targets and Swansea’s door was revolving so frequently they could have generated more power than the planned barrage.

However, it is very different story in our small corner of Cathedral Road. As the premier tenant participation experts in Wales, we have been very active over the summer to improve and strengthen the TPAS Cymru team.

With the departure of Steffan, we searched the market to fill those boots. After some intensive recruitment rounds, we are delighted that Elizabeth Taylor is joining us on a transfer from Carers Trust. She strengthens the team in education policy, working with young people and engagement behaviour. She prides herself on her organisation skills and will add to TPAS Cymru’s reputation as a trusted partner.

Our second role recruited was a new position - Membership Officer. Our members are our strongest supporters and the heart and soul of the TPAS Cymru community. We operate in so many different areas now, that we wanted someone to strengthen the connection to our fantastic supporter base. Over the forthcoming season, you will see Lewis Greenaway provide that connection. Lewis has been active in gender equality, domestic abuse prevention, and employment for people with disabilities and you will see Lewis operate in several positions – up front, out with members as well as back in the office planning new ways to engage with you.

Our final bit of summer business is the recruitment of Carmen Smith in a new role of Private Rental Sector Participation Officer. This is a part time role and Carmen will help grow tenant participation in this important emerging market. Carmen became a free agent after recently finishing her role as acting President of NUS Wales (previously Deputy President). We spotted the chance to snap her strong set of communications, policy, and campaigning skills.

“Tenant participation is continually changing and evolving and it's important that TPAS Cymru is always looking strengthen the team and bring in new talent and ideas. I’m delighted with our summer recruitment and looking forward to the contribution that Elizabeth, Lewis and Carmen will make going forward into the next phase of our campaign.” David Wilton of TPAS Cymru

Carmen and Lewis will join us on the 20th August and Elizabeth with join up with the team from 10th September.

Action: Why not learn more about each of them?
