35 years of TPAS Cymru – celebration and reflections

June this year will mark 35 years since TPAS Cymru was launched in a packed room of tenants and housing staff in Llandrindod Wells.

    

The housing landscape in Wales has changed dramatically since our founding, and we have seen many milestones and historical moments for tenants and social housing along the way.

We feel it is fitting to mark our 35^th anniversary milestone together with a gathering of past and present colleagues, board members and collaborators with an afternoon gathering, including reflections and exhibits.

This afternoon will allow us to reflect on TPAS Cymru's milestone moments, experiences and efforts made over the past 35 years to ensure tenants' voices are heard and included in shaping services in Wales.

We would therefore love to invite former staff, board members and collaborators to come and join us:

Thursday 6th June 2024, at 2:30pm

TPAS Cymru Cardiff office on Cathedral Road,

A draft agenda for the afternoon is as follows:

• 2:30pm start -Welcome & introductions
• 3pm – stories and reflections
• 3:30-4:30pm - networking and reflection.

Throughout this time, we will also have an exhibit of past photos, past publications and staff & event photos.   We will provide refreshments and modest buffet.

Summary

This event will be held at the office on Thu 6^th June 2024 2pm to 4.30pm.

Note: 

1. We sadly can’t offer travel expenses. We don’t have the event resources to cover all our wonderful 200+ former board members, staff, partners and tenant activists. However if this is barrier, do let us know and we will look to see if we can support e.g. lifts etc
2. For the pedants:  whilst we legally incorporated a year earlier in 1988, the formal launch and service offering to tenants and landlords was in 1989 and therefore we felt it was a more appropriate date to celebrate this as anniversary.
3. We are holding it in Cardiff, as our 30^th anniversary event was held in Colwyn Bay.
