The Welsh Government has introduced a significant update to the Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS), with a new Hazards Rule that sets clear expectations and timescales for investigating and remedying hazards, including damp and mould.

For social landlords across Wales, this is will mean more than a compliance change. It’s a shift toward greater accountability and tenant-centred practice, empathy and understanding of people’s needs.

This fast-paced session will explore practical ways to build meaningful tenant engagement to support compliance with the new Rule, helping you provide safe, healthy homes for all.

We’ll look at how and why social landlords should engage Tenants in:

• Codesigning communications that keep tenants informed and reassured
• Shaping reporting and service processes, so that procedures reflect real experiences and support safer, healthier homes.
• Designing proactive, person-centered approaches to assessing and responding to risks, such as developing effective triaging questions.
