This week, TPAS Cymru board and staff were saddened to hear of Pam Every passing away after a period of illness.
Pam was a passionate tenant advocate and campaigner who joined the tenant participation cause in Wales in the 1990s with Isgarig Tenants and Residents Association in Bury Port, Carmarthenshire. As a Council Tenant, Pam was actively involved at a local and national level, with Carmarthenshire Council’s tenant engagement and as a Board member of TPAS Cymru.
Pam joined the TPAS Cymru Board (as a WTF co-optee) in 1998 and served 3 different terms, totalling 16 years on our Board over 3 decades, also serving a term as our Chair (2001 – 2002).

“I was privileged to serve on the TPAS Cymru Board with Pam for 6 years. I know she was inspirational in encouraging tenant involvement in Carmarthenshire and through her role at TPAS Cymru, her passion, commitment and experience benefited tenants and landlords across Wales. She will be missed by all who knew her.” Kay Helyar, Chair, TPAS Cymru
“Pam was a fantastic person who cared so much about the voice of tenants. On a personal level, she was great fun; her conference costumes were legendary! Pam was keen to support the team by getting involved in whatever task needed doing. In the 2001 annual report she wrote as Chair about ‘Communities in Control’ and I think that is something we need now more than ever” David Wilton, Chief Executive of TPAS Cymru
