TPAS Cymru invites you to come to this fascinating session to learn more about what building passports are, how people are using them, and how they can benefit both tenants and landlords alike.

Building Passports – what you need to know

Tuesday 17th May 2022, 9:30am-11am.

You may think Building Passports do not apply to you,  but we urge you to keep reading because they do!

The Grenfell tragegy showed the housing sector that we need much better stakeholder transparancy regarding building safety. In addition, every home in Wales (whatever its type) needs repairs, matainence and scheduled work.  In addition, coming soon each home will have a pathway to low energy living over the next decade. We need not only a way to record the technical specifications and track work,  but also enable stakeholders to understand their home and to see what is happening.  Building passports are needed and are coming your way.   It's time to learn more about them!

Building Passports are not a new concept in other parts of Europe but are being discussed and proposed in Wales as a vital tool for effective living in the future covering key subjects like Building Safety, NetZero and Welsh Housing Quality Standards. Passports are not just for landlords and property owners; they can provide vital transparency to residents and support services.

We want to lift the lid on passports and raise awareness. Therefore TPAS Cymru invites you to come to this fascinating session to learn more about what building passports are, how people are using them, and how they benefit both tenants and landlords alike.

Our expert panel includes:

  • Sam Rees (Senior Public Affairs Officer, RICS)  Subject:  'The case for Passports'
  • Andy Sutton (Co-founder and Director of Innovation, Sero)  Subject: 'How NetZero/Retrofit is embracing Passports'
  • Rupert Parker (Founder and CEO, BuildingPassport.com)  Subject: 'Overview of a developed passport solution, how it's used and the transparancy available'
  • Malcolm Davies, Senior Programme Manager for Housing Decarbonisation, Welsh Government. Subject: Welsh Government's position.

There will also be a Q&A hosted by TPAS Cymru to answer the questions you may have.

This session is suitable for housing professionals, tenants, board members, or support services working in the sector and interested in how building passports can provide effective tracking, accountability and transparency for buildings and properties of any size and shape.

Cost:
Tenants – £19 + VAT
Staff (members) - £59 + VAT
