Community Regeneration Forum

Thursday, 10th June: 10am – 12pm

Following the success of our last Community Regeneration Forum, we’re offering more exciting projects from north and south Wales and Northern Ireland in our June event!

We will hear from:

1.   Cartrefi Conwy - Glanrafon, Llanrwst

We will be joined by Owen Veldhuizen and Matthew Stowe who will share their learning and experience of their 2 highly successful Green Flag Community & Environmental Regeneration schemes. They will give a practical run through of their current project at Glanrafon, Llanrwst and will share their community consultation approaches to Community Regeneration and the key drivers considered for each scheme.

2.   Newydd HA – Poets Close

Rachel Honey-Jones will be discussing the Poets Close scheme in Rhydyfelin and how landlord and tenants co-produced its regeneration, following a devastating fire in 2016. Hear about the history of Poets Close, their hard-to-let and void properties, and how Newydd and the tenants have worked together during every step of the physical regeneration.

3.  Supporting Communities, Northern Ireland

Conor Flanagan and Gillian Forrest will be talking about some of the exciting hands-on work they have been involved in with local community groups in Mid & East Antrim and Causeway Areas of Northern Ireland.   They will share their wealth of knowledge on: the importance of local buy-in and empowering communities to drive projects forward; promotion of inter-agency working; and supporting communities in identifying potential funders.
