Developing trust with tenants has never been more important than it is now

Developing Trust with Tenants Summit

Thursday, 25th January: 10.30am - 12.30pm

In this summit we will hear from our guest speakers about:
  1. The role of trust and why it is important.
  2. Understanding the consequences of the lack of trust.
  3. Key examples and strategies to develop trust.
Why attend this summit?

Developing trust with tenants has never been more important than it is now. With Welsh Government's Net Zero agenda and the need to retrofit tenants’ homes to ensure they are energy efficient; we need to work to increase the confidence that tenants  have in their landlords to ensure successful outcomes. Tenants must feel that they can trust their landlords, because without trust, you have no business.

When we think about tenants and the expectation we have on them to communicate information with us, to ask for help, to let us into their homes, to retrofit their properties, (all of which are things they value), trust is absolutely central to enable effective tenant engagement.

Why else?

Every year, landlords are expected to share Welsh Government STAR survey. Within the questions, tenants are asked:

  • To what extent to you agree with the following statement – “I trust my social landlord”?

Putting the learning from this summit into action, will help to improve tenant satisfaction in this area.
