We’re excited to announce the date of our second 'Homes and Communities - North Wales' half-day conference that will be held at Venue Cymru on 20th March.

Homes and Communities North Wales – ½ day conference 2024

Wednesday 20th March 2024 - 9.30am (for 10am start) – 1pm

Venue Cymru, Llandudno

We’re excited to announce the date of our second Homes and Communities - North Wales half-day conference that will be held at Venue Cymru on 20th March.

This free of charge informal and informative event for staff and tenants is exclusively for our TPAS Cymru members. Here is a fantastic opportunity to hear from a range of thought provoking and informative speakers about what’s happening in north Wales communities and housing. It will also give you a chance to network with tenants and staff from social landlords across the region.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Confirmed speakers:

  • Walis George is a Former Housing Association Chief Executive who is passionate about social and affordable housing and sustaining Welsh speaking communities. Walis will be talking about proposals for a Deddf Eiddo/Property Act for Wales which if implemented, will help regulate the open market to ensure sufficient affordable housing.
  • Robert Callow and Karen Owen from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board Engagement team will be sharing their knowledge and experience about the importance of hearing the voices of the population here in North Wales who access our health services. Hear about the opportunities on how you can have your say to inform future service delivery and find out what's changed as a result of involvement.
  • Craig Sparrow, ClwydAlyn Housing – will be talking about developing new homes as a social landlord including, how they’re funded; the planning process; communicating with the local community; the building standards Welsh Government set out and, low carbon homes and energy efficient homes.
  • Claire Shiland – North Wales Housing and Martin Cooil - Flintshire County Council will share their insight about what’s happening in social housing in north Wales at the moment.
  • The Bevan Foundation vision is for a fair, prosperous and sustainable Wales and aims to create insights, ideas and impact that end poverty and inequality. Hear about their work and current projects in north Wales.

Please note: Numbers for this conference will be limited so, to ensure there are places for all our members, we are initially, allowing 3 members of staff and 3 tenants from each Landlord member to book places.  These places will be on a first come, first serve basis: if we have any spare spaces nearer the date of the event we will re-advertise them.

Lunch will not be provided at this half day event.  Also, please ask for permission from your Landlord if you’re wanting to claim travel expenses to this event.
