Tenant Engagement & Neurodivergence: Achievable Inclusion

What does the word ‘neurodivergent’ mean to you? Have you ever wondered what does ‘good’ engagement for neurodivergent tenants look like?

It is estimated that over 15% of the UK’s population are neurodivergent. Neurodivergence is the term for when someone's brain processes, learns, and/or behaves differently from what is considered "typical". Some neurodivergent conditions include: ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, dyspraxia and dyslexia. Neurodivergent people, including tenants and staff, are often misunderstood- and we want to help change that.

You may be neurodivergent yourself or work closely with others who are. Or perhaps you don’t know much about it but want to learn how to better engage and support neurodivergent community members.

At TPAS Cymru, we truly believe that every tenant voice matters. Which is why we’ve created this insightful online session to spotlight neurodivergence. This is more than simply raising awareness, it’s moving to actions

• Build your confidence in understanding what neurodiversity and neurodivergence is, and isn’t, from expert information at Neurodivergence Wales.
• Hear from tenants with lived experiences of being neurodivergent and how this can shape your way of engagement.
• Have real life examples of this work in place: Bron Afon will be sharing their ‘Opening Doors to Neurodiversity’ Initiative.
• Generate ideas and inspiration on what you can do going forward, to ensure tenant engagement is inclusive for all.

You’ll leave equipped with insights, tools, and real examples that make accessible and meaningful engagement feel achievable - not theoretical. When we come together and learn from and with each other, real inclusion happens.

• All cancellations for paid events must be made by email to [email protected]  If you cancel your place less than 2 working days before the online event you will incur the full cost.
• If you are unable to attend, you can send a substitute delegate at no extra cost.  All substitute delegates must be notified to [email protected]
• If you fail to attend a paid, online sessions, you will be charged the full cost of attendance.
• Once we have received your cancellation, we will forward you a confirmation of your cancellation.
• For our paid events please note, one paid registration may only be used by one person, and the sharing of joining links /screens is prohibited. Therefore, each person attending this event must have a separate registration.
