It’s back! Be Part of What Everyone’s Talking About: ‘Staff Hive’ Returns 🐝

“I look forward to attending this every year, a real highlight” – Tenant Engagement Officer

Our much-loved ‘Staff Hive’ is back for 2026: bringing together Tenant Participation Officers and Communications staff teams for a full day of ideas, discussions and practical takeaways.

Expect a lively, supportive space where you can connect with peers, share real challenges, and explore what’s working (and what isn’t) across tenant engagement and communications.

Join us for this bustling event, led by Chief Executive David Wilton and Policy and Engagement Lead, Olivia Browne where the sector’s everyday challenges turn into shared solutions.

This Year’s Focus: Real Issues, Real Practice

We’ve built the day around the topics that are shaping tenant engagement and communication right now, including:

Rent & Service Charge Communication

How are teams engaging tenants in complex conversations around rent and service charges?
We’ll explore approaches from practice, including engagement techniques and clear, confident communications that help build understanding and trust.

Sharing Tenant Stories Ethically and Effectively

How do we use tenant stories to showcase impact, support services and promote opportunities, without losing sight of ethics safeguarding and risk?
We’ll look at what good practice really looks like, and how to balance storytelling with responsibility on social media.

The “Circle of Trust” / Agony Aunt Session

A relaxed, safe-space session where nothing is off the table.
Anonymous questions, open discussion, and honest peer support with time to troubleshoot real challenges and generate fresh ideas together.

Community Crisis & Rapid Response

Communities can escalate quickly and without warning. Ask yourselves honestly, are you ready?
Through realistic scenarios (from service failures to reputational risks), teams will work together to shape:

  • First response statements
  • Tenant messaging
  • Social media communication
  • Engagement and recovery plans
Bottom-Up Influence: “You Said, We Did”

How does tenant voice genuinely shape strategic decisions? How do we communicate that back clearly and consistently?

These questions are more than just idealistic, they are part of Welsh Government expectations for social landlords.
We’ll explore how organisations close the loop and demonstrate impact in meaningful ways.
