Tenant campaigner elected Vice Chair of TPAS Cymru
The board of TPAS Cymru have elected popular tenant campaigner Emma Parcell as Vice Chair of TPAS Cymru.
Emma is well known in tenant engagement circles having been a passionate campaigner of Gwalia Disability Group (now Pobl). She has also chaired Pobl’s Customer Service Committee.
During her time on TPAS Cymru board, she has brought valuable tenant perspective to the Board’s work as well as bringing her expertise having gone back into education, recently awarded 1st class honours doing a housing degree at Cardiff Metropolitan University!
The election of Emma to Vice Chair means the roles of Chair and Vice Chair of TPAS Cymru are both undertaken by tenants as the Chair position is held by Bill Hunt, a tenant of Cartrefi Conwy.
Commenting on her appointment Emma said:
‘…I am delighted and honoured to be vice-chair of TPAS Cymru, I have served as a board member for 4 years. As a Pobl social housing tenant and recent graduate of BSc (Hons) Housing Studies, I am committed to ensuring tenants are represented and look forward to working with our Chair and board members to support the dedicated staff team at TPAS Cymru to continue to deliver great training and services for tenants and the housing sector in Wales….’
