Consumer Vulnerability for Social Housing

Tuesday, July 14th - 10am to 11:30am

Online session

UK government policy plays a significant role in how social housing providers address consumer vulnerability. Policies and Consumer Standards highlight the government’s emphasis on protecting vulnerable tenants and ensuring that housing providers deliver high-quality, safe, and supportive services.

This course will be delivered by Consumer Friend, providing relevant consumer vulnerability training designed with social housing providers in mind by concentrating on common social housing complaints.

Landlords must treat tenants with fairness and respect so that tenants can access services, raise complaints, influence decision making and hold their landlord to account. Consumer Standards are particularly relevant to addressing consumer vulnerability.  Landlords need to support consumer vulnerability and understand the diverse needs of tenants.

This course aims to improve the service social housing providers give to their residents, ensuring that they get the best outcome and are treated with fairness.
