This three-part programme has been designed as a practical digital communications and engagement series for housing organisations and tenant groups.

Better Digital Engagement for 2026: Skills, Content and Confidence for Housing

Digital engagement is no longer an add-on for the housing sector, it’s central to how tenants and communities access information, form opinions, and participate meaningfully.

How people consume news, social media, and digital content is changing rapidly. Expectations are rising, platforms are shifting, and new tools, including AI are transforming how communications are created and shared.

This three-part programme has been designed as a practical digital communications and engagement series for housing organisations and tenant groups. Across the sessions, we focus on what’s working, what’s not, and how to build skills and confidence for 2026.

Each session can be booked individually, or as part of the full series.

Session 1

How Digital and Traditional Media Are Changing and Why We Need to Adapt

Online | 25 February | 1.30pm – 2.30pm

Media consumption in Wales is changing rapidly and not always in the ways we assume.

This session sets the foundation for the whole series by exploring where tenants are actually getting information, how trust is formed, and why traditional engagement approaches may no longer be landing as intended.

What you will learn

  • A clear picture of how tenants access information and news and where
  • How the Welsh media landscape has changed
  • How housing organisations can get messages to the audiences that matter
  • Insight into demographic and behavioural shifts in online media use
  • Case studies from across the sector: what works, what doesn’t, and why
  • A shared understanding of why engagement approaches need to evolve

Speakers include

Richard Nosworthy: Freelance Communications Specialist
Richard is a bilingual media trainer, podcaster and communications consultant based in Cardiff, specialising in supporting non-profits. He has over two decades’ experience in media and public relations in Wales, including roles as ITV Wales Health Correspondent and Head of Communications at WWF Cymru. Drawing on the latest Ofcom insights, Richard will explore how the Welsh media landscape is changing and where tenants are getting their news and views.
