Canlyniadau Pleidlais Tenantiaid Cyflym: Camerâu Corff mewn Tai

 

Ar LinkedIn ddoe, roedd rhai staff tai sy'n delio ag ymddygiad gwrthgymdeithasol yn dadlau y dylent gael camerâu corff (fel y gwasanaethau brys) i recordio cyswllt heriol ac amddiffyn eu hunain. Maen nhw'n dadlau y gall camerâu corff helpu i dawelu sefyllfa ac ati.

Heddiw yw Diwrnod Ymddygiad Gwrthgymdeithasol TPAS Cymru gyda chyfres o weithdai i staff a thenantiaid – cysylltais yn gyflym â Grŵp Cynghori Tenantiaid TPAS Cymru a gofyn i denantiaid dros nos sut maen nhw'n teimlo am y pwnc yma?

Rhoddodd 53 o denantiaid eu barn ar unwaith dros nos (rwy'n ysgrifennu hwn am 7.30 y bore canlynol!)

 Cipiodd yr arolwg cyflym hwn feddyliau cychwynnol tenantiaid:  

 

Cwestiwn 1 - Ydych chi'n meddwl y dylai staff tai sy'n gyfrifol am ddelio ag ymddygiad gwrthgymdeithasol gael camerâu corff?

Roedd tua 70% yn cytuno, fodd bynnag, nid oedd y rhan fwyaf o'r 30% sy'n weddill yn cytuno o gwbl. Roedd gan y 30% hyn bryderon difrifol.

 

Cwestiwn 2:   Ydych chi'n meddwl y dylai pob aelod o staff tai sy'n gyfrifol am weithio gyda thenantiaid wyneb yn wyneb gael camerâu corff? (er enghraifft swyddogion tai, ymgysylltu cymunedol ac ati)

Roedd hyn yn llawer mwy rhanedig – 47% yn erbyn, 43% o blaid a 10% ddim yn siŵr.

 

Unrhyw safbwyntiau terfynol ar y pwnc hwn? Pryderon? Awgrymiadau? Sut fyddech chi'n teimlo?

Llawer o sylwadau ond roedd 3 thema allweddol:

1. Llawer o sylwadau eraill am ymddiriedaeth, cyfreithlondeb, GDPR, storio, DSARs. 

“Police and ambulance etc have rules and established procedures for body cams- what track record does housing have? They can't even fix basics or bill service charges correctly. would not trust them to use it correctly”.

2. Pryderon ynghylch ffilmio y tu mewn i gartrefi

“Not inside people's homes”

“I feel uncomfortable with the idea of body cameras inside the home”

3. Cymorth i swyddogion tai

“This is 2025, body cams are here now and used widely. The question would be why not use them?”

“I am in complete and utter agreement beyond all shadow of a doubt that any staff member working with tenants face to face, especially when alone should be required REQUIRED to wear a body cam. This does not only support the staff member but also the tenant as it is a record of things discussed, reported and otherwise. There should be an online system where that persons footage is uploaded to their tenancy account for use in potential cases required by court or otherwise at a later date. This puts a serious duty to staff members who have not taken complaints seriously or otherwise dumbed down complaints while offering protection to staff.”

“Think that those working in a challenging customer facing role should wear body cams - so long as the other person is made aware they have it on.”
